Best Wedding ever!

We booked the Bear and Bison Inn 13 years ago today for our wedding venue, and continue to make pilgrimage here once or twice annually ever since. What can we say about the experience here? The service is first rate. The staff are always friendly and accommodating no matter how many times we have been here. The culinary experience is amazing – the owner (Lonny) is a professional chef – and his care and attention to detail certainly shows in the preparation and presentation! They have also proven extremely proactive in accommodating for allergies. We always consider the Bear and Bison Inn our “home away from home” – and will continue to do so in the future! The rooms are clean, the views are spectacular and ambience cultivates an atmosphere of calm and relaxation. It is always our first choice for booking every time we come to Canmore. Lonny takes pride, care and attention into his work and everything he touches. And it shows! We look forward to seeing you again very soon, and thanks again for such a wonderful experience!

Lovely place to stay! Just like the photos! Had spare blankets and hot tub hours are a bit flexible and such a life saver after a long day of adventuring!

As someone with celiac disease…

“There are not enough good things or words to say that sum up our time at Bear and Bison. It’s one thing to do business, we felt welcomed into someone’s home. As someone with celiac disease, the tailored breakfast and care given to making the experience as “typical” as everyone else’s didn’t go unnoticed. The staff are exemplary, the room was immaculate (who doesn’t love an in-suite jacuzzi), the view from our private balcony was unparalleled. We will definitely be back, and will choose A Bear and Bison first every time going forward. Thank you for the incredible stay for our perfect mountain getaway.”

Canmore cozy

So if your grandma lived in Canmore and was a gourmet cook this might be her place. Warm, welcoming, super clean and cozy. It’s not modern ‘boutique chic’ and not soulless like all the apartment condos in this town. Yes, the decor is a little dated, but if you like warmth, character and hospitality you’ll love its wrinkles just like you love your nanna.

Wow! A Great Find!

The Bear & Bison exceeded all our expectations! Excellent Staff, service, charm, good value and an overall wonderful experience. Great location within walking distance to town and hiking. We stayed for 3 nights in early September and were lucky enough to stay one more night before returning to Calgary!

Both rooms we stayed in were spacious, had fireplaces, hot tubs, balconies and were well appointed. Lonnie, the owner served up 3 course gourmet breakfasts each morning.

The inn is charming with antiques and lots of room to lounge. The grounds are beautiful too with sitting areas to eat or just relax.

Perfection in every way!

Lonny the host is knowledgeable, helpful, funny and goes the extra mile to ensure your stay is awesome! He really knows the area and what there is to offer, not to mention this is the only hotel/inn in the Canmore area which offers up a delicious & nutritious breakfast in the price of accommodations! The spa in the bedroom is an added bonus and the handmade natural bath products are to die for! The inn is also nestled into the mountains in a wonderful quiet part of town away from the railroad. I cannot recommend this country inn enough!
