The service, staff, and owner are second to None! We were married at The Bear and Bison in 2014, an unforgettable weekend! Great food, drinks, and gold star service. We were so happy we decided to celebrate our 10th anniversary here again. No change in 2024 with the service and small special touches. We will never forget the times we spent here and will continue to support a very special venue. All our friends and family can not say enough good things about their experiences here, they were blown away by the food and special attention the staff gives. Such a surprise – the Bear and Bison is amazing. The very warm welcome by Annette , no request was too much. Our room was very well appointed, the high quality of linens, cleanliness was noticeable. The outdoor hot tub was very much appreciated after a day on the ski hill. The high quality breakfast is served to the room without any issues. The Inns location makes access to Banff and Lake Louise is perfect. Would not hesitate to recommend the Bear and Bison for your next stay in Canmore!

Breakfasts and dinner were DELICIOUS.We just had our wedding at A Bear and Bison Inn and it was wonderful. Brooke was on-site every day to make sure things went smoothly. She coordinated the entire experience and thought of details I had missed that could make our wedding even more magical.
The hot tub was a highlight of the stay and SO relaxing at the end of a long day.
The rooms were cute with a rustic feel, and waking up to see a view of the mountains each morning was a treat.
Breakfasts and dinner were DELICIOUS. Truly some of the best food I have ever had.
Gigantic shout out to Annette, who did our breakfast services in the main dining area each morning. Annette, you were the best customer service experience I have had in quite some time (possibly ever). Annette had keen attention to detail and could remember who in my party liked decaf coffee or tea, who enjoyed juice the most (and would set out extras for them), and greeted my children with the warmest smile every morning. She made me feel SO at ease as my wild toddlers would play and sing (and sometimes cry) at the tables. She brought their food out early to keep them entertained and always kept an eye out for them as if they were her own. Annette made us feel so taken care of with the best combination of warmth and professionalism. Thank you, Annette!

My husband and I had an unforgettable elopement at The Bear and Bison Inn this summer. The experience was beyond what we could have hoped for, and a big part of that was due to the attentiveness of Brooke, one of the staff members. She went above and beyond to make the day—and the days leading up to it—stress-free and enjoyable. Her care and dedication made everything feel seamless, which, for us, was truly worth the cost.
The setting was magical, with breathtaking views and a warm, inviting atmosphere that made our ceremony feel both elegant and intimate. The staff paid close attention to detail, from the ceremony setup to the flowers and photography, genuinely caring about creating a meaningful day for us.
If you’re looking for a place that combines professionalism with authentic warmth and charm, we wholeheartedly recommend The Bear and Bison Inn. They made our elopement everything we hoped for—and more.

Best wedding venue in Canmore
My husband and I had our dream wedding here, which would not have been possible without the amazing Brooke and Lonny!! They are truly the best to work with. We planned with them for a year over email, sent 13 revisions of our wedding document, and countless other ‘Just one more question!’ emails. They were so patient with us and gave us wonderful advice/ tips! They are excellent communicators.On the day of the wedding, they were nothing short of perfection. Brooke took care of all of the set up and small details, and adapted to some changes on the fly – really took the stress out of the day! I was impressed by her attention to detail. The day went so smoothly! And Lonny – the food was FANTASTIC! Everyone was raving about the food!! Thank you for taking care of us and ensuring we were all so well-fed during our stay!
