Artist in Residence – Karin Edwards

Karin Edwards grew up partly in the beautiful landscape of British Columbia and partly in the open sky of Saskatoon SK.  She loves family, horses, gardening and being outdoors.  Creativity started being evident when her mother put her in art lessons with a kind art teacher who lived just down the street.  It continued to show up in high school and beyond, but took a long break for many years while Karin embarked on an athletic career before she met the love of her life at which point family and children took precedence.

When her athletic career was over and children were growing, that’s when her brother said something that sparked direction for her introverted personality,  “You are going to have to find a new passion”, he encouraged her.   Thus began a new chapter of growing and developing this creative gift into something bigger.

Over the past several months, and during her stay at A Bear and Bison Canadian Country Inn’s Artist Residency,  Edwards has laboured over a unique colouring book, Dreams of Heaven, which is now in print and available for purchase.

A Bear and Bison Inn on Trip Advisor

As someone with celiac disease…

“There are not enough good things or words to say that sum up our time at Bear and Bison. It’s one thing to do business, we felt welcomed into someone’s home. As someone with celiac disease, the tailored breakfast and care given to making the experience as “typical” as everyone else’s didn’t go unnoticed. The staff are exemplary, the room was immaculate (who doesn’t love an in-suite jacuzzi), the view from our private balcony was unparalleled. We will definitely be back, and will choose A Bear and Bison first every time going forward. Thank you for the incredible stay for our perfect mountain getaway.”
